Bucharest, October 21, 2008 – Starting today, the number portability service is available at Vodafone Romania, according to the regulatory framework in place. Portability enables users to keep their phone numbers, either mobile or fixed, if switching carriers.

"Vodafone has been constantly preparing for number portability over the last 3 years in order to fit the communications needs of each and all. We have strongly invested in creating the most advanced network in Romania, in delivering new innovative services and improving the customer experience continuously. We want customers to get great value for money with Vodafone, through the best roaming tariffs, the unbeatable mobile broadband offerings, the strong voice portfolio and the loyalty programs rewarding the time spent in our network. Promotionally, customers who opt for our postpaid services, mobile and fixed, can port their numbers to Vodafone for free, until December 31, 2008”, said Liliana Solomon, CEO Vodafone Romania.

Until the end of 2008, Vodafone will promotionally cover the fee representing the inter-operators costs for customers porting-in to Vodafone, who opt for mobile and fixed postpaid services. As stipulated by the National Communications Authority, the Recipient operator has to pay to the Donor operator a tax of EUR 11, for mobile numbers, and 13 EUR for fixed national number, geographic or non-geographic. In order to become a Vodafone customer, telephony users need to fill in a porting request, in any Vodafone store or partner location all over the country.
